Michael Henry Glowacki

Bushnell-Michael Henry Glowacki, 69, of rural Bushnell, Illinois, passed away at 6:41 PM Thursday Nov. 15, 2012 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL. He was born April 24, 1943 in Alton, Illinois, to Laverna “Becky” (Dunphy) and Henry “Hank” Marian Glowacki. He was preceded in death by his father. Michael married Deborah (LaBolle) on September 5, 1970 in Kirkwood, Missouri. She survives. Also surviving are his mother and 5 children; Patrick (Dianne) Glowacki of Somonauk, IL, Andrew Glowacki of Bushnell, IL, Ryan Glowacki of Chicago, IL, Stacy (Joshua) Gibb of Wataga, IL, Kelly (Bryce) Standley of Macomb, IL. 7 Grandchildren; Jackeyln Glowacki, Esther, Miles, Maxwell and Harrison Gibb, Clara and Ella Glowacki. 2 sisters; Kathleen (Roger) Ohl of Peoria, IL, and Judy (John) McElwain of Gilson, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews. He grew up in Peoria, IL, graduating from both Manuel High School and Bradley University. He moved to DeKalb, IL, where he graduated from Northern IL University. In 1970 he taught at Merrimack Community College in St. Louis Missouri. From 1973 to 1978 he was with the Governing Board of State Colleges and Universities in Springfield, Illinois. In the fall of 1978 he became Budget Director of Western Illinois University until his retirement in 2004. Michael enjoyed vacationing with his family in St. Augustine and Ft. Myers, Florida. He enjoyed home improvement projects, landscaping and family time. A funeral service will be held Sunday Nov. 18, 2012 at 2:30 PM, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Calvary Baptist Church in Macomb, IL, Pastor Randy Whitmire will officiate.
